Smile Direct Club Closes

Smile Direct Club Alert:

Due to the abrupt closure of Smile Direct Club (SDC), many orthodontists are reporting SDC customers are contacting their office wishing to continue their treatment. AAOIC recommends orthodontists approach them as you would any new patient entering your office, taking appropriate records, establishing a new treatment plan, and thoroughly documenting every step throughout the treatment process. In addition, it is advised that orthodontists utilize AAOIC’s Supplemental Informed Consent for SDC Customers in addition to your customary Informed Consent.
